Business Objects Exchange
Note: This page is still undergoing construction.
This is a highly sophisticated and valuable feature that allows BriteWorks™ users to share their experiences and development efforts.
This topic is one of the most profound in the software industry. Many companies, including some of the largest players in the industry,
have tried to make Business Objects work but have failed miserably, however, BriteSoft™ has made this happen in an intuitive manner.
The objective is to create components which are business domain specific, such that anyone can use, modify and deploy them easily.
The problem with prior efforts has been that all renditions to date have been code centric. Anyone who needs to do anything more than
deploy them will need to know programming and this is where the problems start. Firstly, it is not easy to update or modify someone
else's code. Secondly, changing a mountain of code almost invariably means something somewhere else will stop working, unless the
programmer knows exactly what he or she is changing. Lastly, it makes it programmer focussed and not for analysts and domain experts.
With BriteWorks™, Business Objects are created in the same manner as any other BriteWorks™ application or elements, i.e. WITHOUT CODING.
Any combination of user interfaces, data elements and business rules can be 'promoted' to Business Objects and then 'consumed' in any
application. Data elements (tables and fields) can be imported with or without data in an effortless manner and a preview allows users
to determine exactly what elements to use.
Customers can register these components with BriteSoft™ in its Business Object Exchange Portal and be able to use the site as a conduit
for selling their business objects. Independent Software Vendors are ideally suited to take advantage of this exchange portal as it
gives immediate visibility to all BriteWorks™ users.
